She said that media officers of Vetëvendosje Movement, Frashër Krasniqi and Adea Batusha, were arrested following RTK’s media pressure which happened after Frashër Krasniqi’s debate with the RTK’s Editor in Chief, Ridvan Berisha.

She further said that RTK is serving as a governmental department, in particular during the news editions, each day at 19:30, where the work of Kadri Veseli, Hashim Thaçi and Isa Mustafa is deified, whereas news related to Vetëvendosje Movement are minimized, be it in ordering of the topics, minutes at their disposal or the manner they are portrayed.

“Because of these and many other reasons, we call on citizens not to watch RTK news. To the point that this public medium has reached, switching of the channel at 19:30hrs is an act of liberation from the government propaganda,” Rrusta concluded.

At the end of the action, a switched off TV with a note showing the time of news edition and the call “Switch the channel,” was exposed.

Application of new road traffic rules started

(KTV)

Frequent accidents that recently took many people’s lives have pushed the officials to set new road traffic rules. As of Tuesday, drivers who will not be respecting the new law on road traffic risk to be fined with way higher fines.

Changes in this law were made in the articles, the disrespect of which is believed to have marked increase of accidents during this year compared to the same period last year.

Importance was paid to speed limit exceeding within the urban zone, where for an exceeding up to 50 kilometres speed per hour more than it is allowed, the fine will be up to 900 euros.

The law also envisages negative points, according to which the drivers can be suspended their driving licence or complete annulment of the licence.

Representatives of organisation monitoring this field say that this was the only way to educate citizens. The latter ones partially agree with the new rules.

“Public awareness here is unfortunately only done with punitive measures and not educational ones. Through a series of campaigns we have tried to show them what are their obligations as participants in the road traffic; however, it seems that this did not produce an appropriate effect. Until now, we had fines that were not high, but we had great numbers of lost lives,” said Shpresa Mulliqi, expert of road traffic rules.
