Assembly will not discuss demarcation on Thursday’s session

(TV21)

Kosovo Assembly will hold its plenary session on Thursday starting at 10:00. However, the Draft Law on demarcation with Montenegro is not included in the agenda of this plenary session, TV21 reported.

MPs will discuss ten points of the agenda, including the annual report of the Regulatory Authority of Electronic and Postal Communications, establishment of an ad-hoc Commission for selecting a member of the Independent Media Commission (IMC) and the establishment of an ad-hoc Commission for selecting two board members of the Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK).

Djuric: The past between Kosovo and Serbia should be left behind

(RTK1)

Serbia ‘s  apology for war crimes in Kosovo should happen through dialogue and stabilisation of relations between the two countries, said the Director of the Office for Kosovo at the Serbian Government, Marko Djuric in an exclusive interview for RTK.

Djuric said that the past between Kosovo and Serbia should be left behind, emphasizing that this is in the interest of Kosovo and Serbia.  He underlined that Serbia and Kosovo must try to normalize their relations.

“It is important to communicate with each other and to ease the pain of the past. I think it is in the interest of both parties to leave the past behind,” said Djuric.

In relation to the Brussels dialogue, Djuric said that the genuine dialogue is difficult, as both parties represent the stances of their own countries and sometimes, as he said, these stances are different.

As it regards the Orthodox Church located within the university campus in Prishtinë/Pristina, Djuric said that religious representatives should have the say about this issue and not political representatives.

Among other topics, Djuric said that Srpska List should not be blamed about the failure to ratify the Agreement on Border Demarcation with Montenegro.

Stojanovic and Kostic criticize Gracanica/Graçanicë Police Commander

(Klan Kosova)

A special liturgy was held in Gracanica/Graçanicë Monastery on Wednesday.  Except Bishop Teodosije, the ceremony was hosted also by the mayor of this municipality, Vladeta Kostic.

However, Mayor Kostic did not invite any Albanian guests on the occasion of the Gracanica/Graçanicë Municipality Day. Even the announcement for the Day of the Municipality was only posted in the webpage which is managed by Serbia and not in the official webpage of Kosovo.

Besides the Director of the Office for Kosovo at the Serbian Government, Marko Djuric, the ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucicevic and Srpska List representatives in Kosovo institutions, including Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic, Minister for Return Dalibor Jevtic and Srpska Lists caucus chief, Slavko Simic.

However, not everything went well as the procession for the feast did not go through the main street of Gracanica/Graçanicë as it was planned, because Kosovo police did not stop the traffic on the main road, Klan Kosova reported.  Mayor Kostic had no dilemmas whom to blame.

He said that all Gracanica/Graçanicë citizens are aware that municipal leaders have bad relations with the Commander of Kosovo Police in Gracanica/Graçanicë, emphasizing that they have had issues in all activities held so far.

Deputy PM Stojanovic also expressed displeased with Gracanica/Graçanicë Police commander, Bratislav Trajkovic and announced protests in the streets.

“Our patience is coming to an end. If we don’t achieve to convince this person to carry out his duty or dismiss him, then we will do so,” said Deputy PM Stojanovic.

On the other hand, the Kosovo Police Commander in Gracanica/Graçanicë, Bratislav Trajkovic, told TV KIM, that he did not receive any request from the municipality to stop the traffic during the time when the Municipality was marking its Day.  He said that he did receive such a request for Monday and Tuesday but not for Wednesday.

Nevertheless, Djuric called for unity among Serbs, while Bishop Teodosije had a message for the opponents of the functionalization of the Orthodox Church located in university campus in Prishtinë/Pristina.

“Those who cannot stand blessings and praying are determined for the opposite which no one wants,” said Bishop Teodosije.

Gecaj: Vetëvendosje activist torched my wife’s vehicle

(RTK)

Bajram Gecaj, advisor to Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, said that the suspect arrested for torching the vehicle of his wife, is an activist of Vetëvendosje Movement, the online version of RTK reported. He said that he is expecting the verdict of the court about the suspect.

Gecaj also spoke about the demarcation issue, saying that they are having meetings with experts to shed light on this issue. He noted that there are several LDK MPs which hare reluctant to vote demarcation. Moreover, Gecaj denied Srpska List claims that they never had any meetings about the demarcation issue.

He also commented the recent statement of the former Vetëvendosje leader, Albin Kurti, who mentioned a potential war in the future.

“Vetëvendosje is the worst for this country. If they take the power, they will impose dictatorship and they are dangerous,” said Gecaj.

Ferhat Dinosha appointed as Ambassador of Montenegro to Kosovo

(KTV)

Former Ambassador of Montenegro to Albania, Ferhat Dinosha has been appointed as the first Ambassador of Montenegro to Kosovo, the online version of KTV reported.

President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic talked on Wednesday with Dinosha in Podgorica on the verge of taking over Montenegro’s Embassy in Kosovo.

President Vujanovic said that this is the right time for Montenegro and Kosovo to exchange ambassadors.

“There are strong guarantees that the interests and rights of the Montenegrin community in Kosovo will be protected and this has been Podgorica’s condition for the exchange of diplomatic representatives at the highest level,” said President Vujovic.

Institutional support requested for integration of RAE community members

(RTK1)

MPs from non-majority communities discussed on Wednesday about reintegration and repatriation of members from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities. MPs, representing these communities in the Assembly, requested institutional support for reintegration of RAE members after their repatriation.

MP Kujtim Pacaku said that integration should happen in a package same as for other communities. He said that houses are built for other communities, while, as he said, for RAE community there are only collective buildings. He considered this as unfair.

CHDRF criticizes the new law on road traffic

(TV21)

Council for the Defence of Human Rights and Freedoms (CHDRF) reacted against the new road traffic law. In its reaction, CHDRF notes that the Law stipulates fines from 150 up to 6,000 euros, which for Kosovo’s circumstances and standards are unaffordable.

CHDRF considers that this law would only increase the corruption among police officers, taking into account their low wages.

According to CHDRF, despite the fact that the new Law aims to prevent violations of road traffic rules, it also gives an impression that the Law aims to fill Kosovo’s budget with the expensive fines.
