The Court of Appeal of Kosovo scheduled for November 22nd one more, additional hearing in the case against the leader of the Civic Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanović.

Lawyer Nebojša Vlajić says that judges in the case want to investigate allegations of the defence that for the events for which Ivanovic has been sentenced, a lot of witnesses have testified during the proceedings which took place before the UNMIK court.

“At the hearing on 22 November the court should hear Mahmut Halimi the then UNMIK investigative judge,” lawyer Vlajić said.

The EULEX trial panel in the first instance sentenced Ivanović to nine years in prison for war crimes committed in Mitrovica on 14 April 1999.

The defence appealed before the Court of Appeal of Kosovo, and the process is on-going.
