Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Pal Lekaj, said that Kosovo has returned to a situation that resembles an administered and not governed state.

He added that Kosovo has returned to the time of the provisional self-governing institutions. “Kosovo institutions are behaving as if nothing is in their hands when decisions which strengthen state integrity and sovereignty are concerned,” Lekaj said.

“There are many things that lead us to suspect that government of Kosovo does not consider to be a government of an independent country, therefore they make concessions and give in, in relation to the neighbors, as in the case of the Association, demarcation, and lately, the agreement on the telephone prefix. All these, and many more, are in a way harming the independence of Kosovo,” Lekaj said.   He added that independence does not mean only to proclaim it, but to keep alive the ideal of those who sacrificed everything for the 17 February 2008 to happen and to be able to elect independent institutions of Kosovo. According to Lekaj, it would have been patriotic to proclaim new elections today in order to make the institutions independent once again, but this time, independent from crime and corruption and return them to their genuine destination, in service of the citizens.
