Serbian Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic will attend the November 22-26 Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie in Madagascar.

Tanjug reported on Tuesday that this event is “also expected to be attended by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci.”

President of France Francois Hollande has also been announced to attend the event, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, adding that Dacic was expected to “try to prevent further recognitions of Kosovo.”

Madagascar, the host nation, does not recognize Kosovo, and the summit will be attended by delegations from 80 member and observer states.

During the visit, Dacic will speak with senior Francophone summit officials, including Secretary-General Michaelle Jean, and meet with many heads of delegations of member and observer states.

The Francophone nations make up one third of UN member states and Serbia has been an observer since 2006.
