The Government of the Republic of Serbia and the European Union are committed to continuous provision of legal support to internally displaced persons, refugees and returnees under readmission.

These vulnerable groups lack information, practical assistance and representation by qualified lawyers before the courts. To this end, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the EU Delegation in Serbia again started with the mechanism of free legal assistance under the project “Protection and promotion of property rights of internally displaced persons, refugees and returnees based on readmission agreements”.

In cities across Serbia are formed six legal teams within the project. The aim is to ensure that these persons reach durable solutions for the unique problems they are facing due to the inability to exercise their rights in places of their origin, especially in connection to the property rights.
