I expect the international community to react due to the inappropriate way of organizing the opening of the bridge on the Bistrica River, and if this does not happen, I will send a letter tomorrow to the EU envoy, as people in the north of Kosovo are disturbed and the tensions are high, Mayor of Mitrovica North Goran Rakić told daily Večernje Novosti.
Mayor Rakić states that Serbs in the north were especially worried over the presence of the Minister for the Kosovo Security Forces Haki Demolli and notes that according to the agreement from Brussels, Kosovo Security Forces cannot come to the North.
“Therefore, we intend to address the representative of the EU, because Union is the mentor of these agreements. Had the Serbian side deceived some agreement by any chance, probably by now would be scheduled a session of the UN Security Council.”
After the announcement of the Serb representatives in Kosovo on the suspension of all cooperation with KFOR, this mission has stated it would continue to work for the benefit of all people in Kosovo, in accordance with its mandate under the Resolution 1244.
