CI SDP condemns any attempt of transformation of the Kosovo Security Forces into something that may seem aggressive and threatening, and this idea can be understood only in that manner among the non-Albanians and Serbs, the statement said.
According to the statement, “such an institution would not be a serious threat to anybody in the region, but it would certainly cause an increase in the combat readiness and this instantly and automatically means raising tensions, and drawing attention from the serious problems which the whole region has.”
“Especially worrisome the willingness of authorities and political parties in Pristina to easily seek and find illegal way to achieve their plan, even if that means bypassing their own Constitution. This demonstrates clearly why Serbs generally do not trust Pristina institutions, their laws, and not even the Constitution which has a lot of good solutions, but it turns out that for the Albanian majority it represents only a paper that serves to show the world the level of democracy, but gives no guarantees to those whose survival in KiM is constantly threatened, and those are the Serbs,” said the statement.
