Vetevendosje leader Visar Ymeri and the party’s candidate for prime minister, Albin Kurti, are visiting Brussels, several news websites report. On the first day of their visit, Ymeri and Kurti met with Tonino Picula, member of the European Parliament from Croatia, and with representatives of the Office of the High Commissioner for Security and Foreign Policy. A press release issued by the Vetevendosje Movement noted: “During the meetings talks were held about the formation of a new government in Kosovo and the need to change Kosovo’s political and governing course, economic development that results in employment, rule of law that fights crime and corruption and social policies aimed at reducing inequality … Representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament said they would recognize any democratic government that has a majority in Parliament. Vetevendosje representatives said they would step up cooperation toward EU integration and regional cooperation on the basis of good neighborly relations and reciprocity”.
