Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, called today for a continuous commitment to respecting human rights and especially the rights of victims of crime. During a conference on the Victims’ Rights Week, Thaci said that as part of recommendations for a dignified treatment of victims of crime, local institutions must focus on creating the proper conditions for this part of society and also highlighted the importance of the law on compensating victims of crime. “Our commitment to victims of crime must be daily-based. The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are focused on creating conditions for the defense of victims of crime. I call on all institutions to provide dignified treatment to victims of crime. We pledge that the Republic of Kosovo will defend and promote human rights in general, including the rights of victims of crime. I hope that we will have less and less victims of our crime in our country,” Thaci said.
