Most online media report that Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, said today that “Kosovo cannot remain hostage of false causes by certain individuals” regarding the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. Thaci posted on his Facebook account: “the ordinary noisemakers, who have been creating confusion for over two years now, have gone back to their old calling yesterday. They repeated with ease and failed to provide arguments to any of their amateur claims, trying to manipulate the media and the public. These individuals feed their saga with fabrications, make them public, and the people suffer the most not only because they hear the same noise all the time but also because the lack of state responsibility to ratify the border delineation agreement between Kosovo and Montenegro, is keeping the people and the state of Kosovo isolated. In case our state institutions remain hostage of fabrications by individuals or certain political groups, our state will certainly suffer greater consequences. It is time for our state institutions to overcome this situation by behaving responsibly. We cannot allow certain individuals to treat the state as their own private property indefinitely. The institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, elected by the people of Kosovo, need to take a decision on this matter in accordance with obligations and procedures, and free from the influence of certain individuals. We cannot remain hostage of no one’s position or false causes, which not only keep us isolated, but also threaten to ruin our state relations with Montenegro, and above all threaten to ruin Kosovo’s cooperation and trust with the United States of America, NATO and the European Union.”
