Unknown assailants shot Oliver Ivanovic this morning in North Mitrovica, and he soon succumbed to injuries, it was confirmed to Belgrade daily Blic.
Ivanovic was killed in a shooting occurred around 8.15 this morning in Mitrovica North.
Ivanovic’s lawyer, Nebojsa Vlajic, told Blic that Ivanovic, unfortunately, succumbed to injuries.
– It seems that he passed away on the spot. As far as we know, he has five bullet wounds. He was immediately taken to the hospital, doctors tried reanimation, but there was no salvation – Vlajic told Blic.
The Kosovo police confirmed that Ivanovic was sent to the hospital and that currently there is no information about the attack, according to Pristina daily Koha.
The deputy commander of the Kosovo Police in the region, Besim Hoti, told KoSSev portal that all police forces are searching for the attackers on Oliver Ivanovic.
– We sent units to the field. The units are in the hospital and in front of the offices to determine this officially, said Hoti.
They fired at Ivanovic while he entered the premises of his party, and party colleagues have found him.
According to Pristina’s media, crowd is present both in the hospital circle in Mitrovica and outside the premises of the party, and the part of the city in which the attack took place was blocked by strong police forces.
