Presiding Judge on “Land” case Petko Petkov, indicated that defendants of this case, Azem Syla and the others, will be tried by local judges.
Prosecutor Danilo Cecarreli objected strongly this transfer. “This means conclusion of the case, and we all know why,” he said. He assessed the transfer as a shame on EULEX.
Azem Syla and 21 other individuals are accused for organized crime related to expropriation of socially owned property in Veternik and Laplje Selo in vicinity of Pristina. The defendants are accused for organized crime, money laundry, accepting bribe, serious frauds, frauds at duty, issuance of illegal court verdicts, abuse of official duty, legalization of fraud content and fiscal evasion.
