The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, condemned use of teargas at today’s session of the Assembly, when ratification of the demarcation deal with Montenegro was expected to be voted.

“Violence at the Assembly is intolerable and a terrible sequence for Kosovo in the world. I urge MPs to continue with their work, despite the dangerous tactics of the opponents of visa liberalization. Demarcation should be ratified today. This is what the citizens of the country are expecting, no matter their party affiliation or ethnicity. Voting of demarcation means free movement for all citizens of Kosovo,” Thaci wrote on his Facebook account.

“Three years are enough to waste for false causes which are keeping Kosovo and its citizens isolated. Now is the time of the truth and action. Decision of Members of the Parliament to ratify the agreement is the will of the citizens who want to embrace European values. Do not allow to be challenged by anyone, especially not by those who want to keep Kosovo far away from European values and isolated,” Thaci concluded.
