Head of Serbian Permanent Delegation to the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, Aleksandra Tomic logged today a protest due to the absence of any reactions from the Parliamentary Assembly and other Council of Europe bodies over recent events and incidents that took place in Kosovo and Metohija, the Serbian National Assembly said today.

Tomic addressed letters to the highest officials of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly and instances dealing with Kosovo and Metohija.

Tomic requested condemnation of incidents in which 32 persons were injured, including citizens from Mitrovica North, journalists and Serbian state officials, as well as Serb representatives within Pristina authorities.

“It is with regret to notice a silence in the European institutions over this barbaric attack, whose aim is to protect human rights, which was not the case when a train from Belgrade departed to Mitrovice North.

People, who peacefully gathered to talk on important life issues were injured, thus their fundamental civic and human rights were violated,” Tomic noted in the letters.

She added, Serbian delegation plans to speak about these incidents at the forthcoming April session of the Parliamentary Assembly, that would take place in Strasbourg, from 23 to 27 April, the press statement said.
