Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group chief, Avdullah Hoti, said today that the European Union must react against Serbia’s decision to ban Kosovo athletes from attending a European championship in Novi Sad and the ban against LDK MP Vjosa Osmani to attend a meeting of European integration commissioners. “On Europe Day, when we should be promoting freedom of movement, good neighborly relations and readiness to resolve issues through dialogue, Serbia is showing that it has remained behind with its policies of isolation and conflict. Serbia’s behavior shows that dialogue so far has been futile. We need a new format of dialogue, but with political representatives that have civic legitimacy and credibility. We need a process of dialogue that will address the key issue: mutual recognition … Politicians that have flirted with criminal elements in the north to secure the votes for forming a government, lack the credentials to protect Kosovo’s interests in this crucial process,” Hoti wrote in a Facebook post.
