The German Chancellor Angela Merkel, said at the EU Summit in Sofia that Europe’s interest is security and economic development. She stated on her arrival to Sofia that “today we are going to discuss Western Balkans,” and added that Bulgarian Prime Minister Bojko Borisov, has worked hard to approximate the region with the EU.”
“In order to have security and peace for all of us, it is important to have a secure and economically developed Western Balkans ,” Merkel said.
She stressed that EU leaders have agreed to reach closer cooperation in the field of digitization and other fields.
