Klan Kosova quotes sources saying that the EU rule of law mission, EULEX, will be extending its presence in Kosovo for at least two more years. The EU has hailed the mission’s extension in the draft recommendations of the EU Council for Kosovo expected to be published next month. The EU Council calls on Kosovo to continue close cooperation with EULEX so that the mission can fully implement its mandate.

Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri told Indeksonline that although mandate for EULEX could be extended for additional two years, the mission is not expected to have executive powers. “It will be a monitoring and advisory mechanisms for law enforcement institutions,” Tahiri said.
