Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Fatmir Limaj, spoke in an interview with Klan Kosova about dialogue with Serbia and said recognition of Kosovo is very important. “I believe there is nothing more important for Serbia that recognition of Kosovo.” Limaj said adding that dialogue would not make sense if it doesn’t lead up to Kosovo’s recognition from Serbia. “I don’t think Serbia is willing to put hundreds of interests at stake for one recognition of Kosovo. If there is no recognition though, what are we talking about? If there is no recognition, nothing is resolved – dialogue will be in vain,” he added. Limaj said that it is crucial for unresolved questions between Kosovo and Serbia to be closed once and for all. He said Kosovo should focus on three aspects: timeline of the dialogue, recognition of Kosovo, and Kosovo’s UN membership. “We need a clear agenda and timeline and the end should be mutual recognition,” Limaj underlined.
