The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci discussed today with the students of Pristina University. He expressed his optimism that Kosovo people will be moving freely, without visas within this year.
Speaking about the dialogue with Serbia, Thaci said “we want this process to conclude as soon as possible, with formal recognition of Kosovo by Serbia.”
“The agreement should be between two independent and sovereign states and this process should open perspective for Kosovo in NATO and EU,” he said.
“The sooner this happens, the better it would have been for all. We are aware of the sensitivity of Kosovo-Serbia relations, but the EU’s aim was clear also at Sofia Summit: EU should modernize, it should reform, and Western Balkans countries should resolve problems among them in order for the enlargement to happen,” Thaci said further.
Speaking about the problem of illegal migration, Thaci said Kosovo has a much better experience than the countries of the region on managing this process and new situations that could appear.
