Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said in a visit to the municipality of Lipjan/Ljipljan that the statement of the US Ambassador Greg Delawie during a KTV interview regarding the idea that territorial exchange or partition of Kosovo could be part of the final agreement with Serbia was wrongly interpreted by the media. “I know the US position. The first and foremost US position is that they will not impose a solution, only if parties agree to something,” Haradinaj said. He noted that it is one thing to discuss an issue and another to consider partition option. “Americans have no red lines but they have recognised independence of Kosovo under this Constitution, under this territory.” He reiterated his view that partition of Kosovo would mean war and “I know no one wants war in the Balkans.”

In an interview aired by KTV Thursday evening, the US ambassador refused to comment on whether exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia or partition of Kosovo could be the outcome of the dialogue saying that it was up to the people of Kosovo and its politicians to decide what they want to get out of the process.
