Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti said today that dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade is being held “not for Kosovo to become a member of the United Nations, but for Serbia to join the European Union”. “Serbia is now dependent on us. Its dependency relates to Presevo, Bujanovac and other chapters related to justice, freedom and security. We have three dilemmas vis-à-vis Serbia: its membership process of the EU, which depends on us and we must not waste this opportunity; the market in Kosovo and, third, the reciprocity of rights in Kosovo and Serbia, being that there are more Albanians in Serbia than Serbs in Kosovo,” Kurti said. He added that Serbs now want a somewhat changed Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. He also said that the main result of the Brussels dialogue so far has been the creation of the Serbian List. “The objective of dialogue seems to have been dialogue itself. This is confirmed by the fact that everyone was rushing to reach new agreements without implementing the old agreements.”
