Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti met with Bujanovac Mayor Shaip Kamberi as part of the roundtable for the rights of Albanians living in Presevo Valley, the news website reports. Kurti said the term “border correction” used by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci is dangerous and inadequate. He argued that the term implies border correction only in certain and smaller areas, such as villages and hills, but not the inclusion of a whole region such as the municipalities of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac, “which should be treated in their entirety and not separately”. Kurti said the only solution for Albanians living in Presevo Valley is their 1992 referendum. He also added that Serbia must recognize Kosovo’s independence and compensate for the damages it inflicted during the conflict.
