Kosovo’s Ministry of Justice and the United Kingdom Embassy in Kosovo signed today a memorandum of understanding for functional review of the rule of law sector. Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri said that they expect that by end of 2020 Kosovo will be free of problems currently being faced by the judicial sector. He said the goal is to prepare a strategy “aimed at strengthening the rule of law in the Republic of Kosovo, strengthen the judiciary, further independence of the judiciary, capacity building and of course it is closely linked to the “Justice 2020’ agenda we launched yesterday,” Tahiri said. The UK Ambassador Ruairi O’Connell said they will continue supporting Kosovo and noted that organised crime can be fought by brave people.
