Ruairi O’Connell, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo, said the recent occurrences with the veterans’ lists are being followed with great concern. During his speech at the Regional Conference against corruption, O’Connell also said that the British government is seriously engaged in observing fulfillment of the commitments made by Kosovo officials at Balkans Summit.

“War against corruption is not something new. Corruption is present in the entire globe, but in some places more and in some less. Corruption is a global problem and threat. These people in power should be a modern example for the youth and be heroes of today. Balkan countries have also led a good fight against corruption. The British government is following seriously fulfillment of these commitments. Britain is seriously concerned about threats toward prosecutors, that happened during the recent weeks. War against corruption should not be closed within the borders of one state or the other. Regional cooperation against corruption is necessary. As Britain, we support Kosovo’s membership at INTERPOL,” O’Connell said.
