The Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica has unanimously approved the resolution calling on the Government of Kosovo to amend necessary legislation to enable the unification of two Mitrovica municipalities. Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri said the request is a democratic right and should become a reality. “I want peace and calm. I have worked since 2013 together with international community to bring peace to Mitrovica. I do not wish ill on any person regardless of their nationality,” Bahtiri said at a press conference following the meeting of the municipal assembly. He called on the Government and the Assembly of Kosovo to implement the resolution approved by the municipality.
