The news website reports that the municipality of Mitrovica South announced today that the Ministry of Local Government has not allowed the municipality to send to central institutions an initiative aimed at amending the law on the administrative boundaries of municipalities. Mitrovica South Mayor Agim Bahtiri had launched the initiative with the goal of “unifying the city of Mitrovica”. The Ministry said the initiative was illegitimate. Bahtiri meanwhile called on all citizens and media in Mitrovica to attend a roundtable on Friday to initiate a petition for the unification of Mitrovica.
