In an interview with RTV Dukagjini, Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and member of the Kosovo negotiating team, Enver Hoxhaj, said that the U.S. and EU expect Kosovo and Serbia to reach agreement by late spring. “We had a meeting today with Quint ambassadors. Their position is firm. There needs to be mutual recognition,” Hoxhaj said. He said Kosovo would agree to a document with Serbia starting off with a preamble which would resolve Kosovo’s recognition by Serbia. “Without this, there would be nothing to talk about,” he noted. Hoxhaj added however that there are up to fifteen other issues that need to be discussed and agreed on with Serbia including missing persons, succession of Yugoslavia, property. “Another topic involves the rights of the Serb community in Kosovo which would translate reciprocally to those of Albanians in the Presevo Valley,” Hoxhaj underlined.
