The Democratic League of Kosovo has reacted to a report published by Indeksonline claiming that while the party is considering Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj’s rejecting the U.S. calls for suspending the tax on Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to be unacceptable, it is at the same time refusing to heed U.S. calls to join the Kosovo Negotiating Team for Dialogue with Serbia. In a statement, LDK said the report was inaccurate and that the party has expressed clear position in support of permanent alliance with the U.S. and supports dialogue for normalisation of relations with Serbia which would result in mutual recognition between two sovereign countries. “LDK in this legislature is an opposition party and acts from the opposition in a positive and constructive manner in the interest of Kosovo and stability in the region and beyond. LDK has stated it is the responsibility of the ruling coalition which has introduced the tax, to decide on its fate,” the party said.
