Lavrov: Resolution 1244 is most important international document (KoSSev)

„Russia is always committed to the strict and accurate fulfillment and compliance with UN SC Resolution 1244. We support the actions of Belgrade aimed at fulfilling this most important international document,”  Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov said in Sochi yesterday following the meeting with his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic, KoSSev portal reported. Minister Lavrov also called on KFOR and EULEX to „prevent any attempts of violence and vandalism in Kosovo, in particular against Serbs and religious sites.“ „We emphasize the constructive attitude of Belgrade in the negotiations with Pristina under the EU auspices. However, we cannot say the same about the attitude of the Kosovo Albanians, who, for years, have not fulfilled what was agreed earlier. We think that the EU should take full responsibility for this state of affairs and insist on fulfilling what has been agreed,“ Lavrov added. When asked by a Russian journalist „how will the delimitation process go, bearing in mind that Albanians want to take control of Presevo valley, and in exchange they do not intend to give the north of Kosovo inhabited by Serbs to Serbia,“ Dacic responded that “this is proof of how much they are not ready for any compromise at all“. „Basically, all they want is “Greater Albania” project and that is not enough for them, they would like to reach Nis. They would like to take half of Montenegro, half of Macedonia, the North of Greece. They do not realize that the situation, the world has changed. Clinton’s birthday was celebrated in Pristina. I think that’s the only place where Clinton’s birthday was celebrated except in Clinton’s home. This is evidence that they are behind the times and that the time has changed. What they are thinking – it’s not going to happen (...),“ Dacic added
