Djukanovic: It is the last moment for EU to request Pristina lift measures (RTS)

Tensions have shown how much it is necessary to lift the measures introduced by Pristina in order to create an environment for Belgrade-Pristina dialogue continuation, Director of the Centre for Foreign Policy, Dragan Djukanovic told RTS. Speaking for the RTS morning news edition, Djukanovic added new measures that Pristina is announcing would completely deter normalization of Belgrade-Pristina relations and it seems it is yet another mechanism Ramush Haradinaj and his government are using to slow down or bring the entire process into question. Commenting on the EU heads of diplomacy meeting today, Djukanovic said he thinks “it is the last moment for the EU to once more decisively urge Pristina to lift the measures as soon as possible,” in order “to create an environment that would enable the continuation of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.” Asked about Pristina’s intention to transform Kosovo Security Forces into an army, Djukanovic responded that “obviously Pristina received mixed signals on the matter. It is very important to preserve peace and stability, as well as Pristina to resolve its issues and frustrations, and to return to the negotiation table.”
