Vucic: Bulgaria and Serbia have temporary misunderstanding, but good relations (BETA, Serbian media)

Serbia and Bulgaria have excellent relations while the latest developments and statements are only a temporary misunderstanding, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday commenting on the exchange of statements between Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic, BETA news agency reported. "Bulgaria has recognized Kosovo independence, Serbia does not, and these are the only differences between us. We have good relations regarding everything else, this is a temporary misunderstanding,” Vucic said, announcing that he will talk to Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and President Rumen Radov next week. “We have members of the Bulgarian minority in Serbia and I wish that they feel like home," Vucic said at a press conference following the visit of primary school children from northern Kosovo and Metohija to the Serbian Presidency. He added that he would personally advocate for "returning onto the tracks of good relations" with “Bulgaria as soon as possible. “ Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic recently told Borissov to respect the European Union position on Kosovo which is status-neutral rather than "deliver lessons" to the new European Union High Representative Josep Borrell. Dacic was reacting to Borissov’s comment that the Spanish diplomat should represent the EU's interests regarding Kosovo independence and not those of his own country, which does not recognize Kosovo. "Boyko, you have to respect the stance of the EU, not preach to Borrell. How does that look? That is disrespectful. That hypocrisy is what is the most unnerving for me, I’ve had enough of it," Dacic said. Meanwhile, media in the both countries reported that Serbian Ambassador in Sofia and his counterpart in Belgrade would be summoned for meetings to clarify details, Serbian media reported.
