Institutions violating the Law on use of languages (KIM radio)

Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) and Association of Journalists of Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM) protested most sharply due to continued discrimination of the Serbian language, after newly formed Kosovo institutions continued forwarding communiqués in Albanian language.

“UNS and  DNKiM request immediate reaction of Serb representatives in Kosovo institutions and of the Office of the Language Commissioner, due to violation of the Law on the Use Languages in Kosovo, language discrimination and albanization of the Serbian linguistic space,” reads a communiqué.

UNS and DNKiM said that Kosovo government and cabinet of the Kosovo President have forwarded around 40 communiqués to Serbian media in last two days, out of which only four were in Serbian language. The only communiqués that were translated into Serbian language were those coming from the Kosovo parliament.
