Petrović: If we wanted, we could support the establishment of an Army (KIM radio)
President of the Independent Liberal Party (SLS) Slobodan Petrović responded on increasingly frequent statements by representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the Serbian List that in the case of support to other candidates it would mean the vote for an army of Kosovo, by calling them 'false and insane', reports KIM radio.
SLS policy is clear regarding establishment of a Kosovo army, says Slobodan Petrović, emphasizing that their MPs in the two parliamentary mandates did not want to support the establishment of the armed forces.
- If we wanted to vote for the army, we had two terms to finish this. After all, the government fell in 2013 because of this fact that our MPs refused to vote for the army, says Slobodan Petrović.
On the other hand, says Petrović, just those who speak most about the army, secretly have discussed the formation with Albanian officials.
People are scared
Speaking about the campaign, Petrović says that SLS daily is visiting Serbian households because, as he points out, their voters should not attend meetings because they fear the consequences if they are seen.
-Our people are scared and confused by some of candidates who are on the Serbian List and by some who support the Serbian List and are working in institutions and hold certain positions. We did not want to bring members of our community in an awkward position, that they are seen in public meetings because afterwards several of them remain without a job, a few of them without social assistance, says Petrović.
Petrović says that the pressures rife, although he is convinced that behind ‘such activities’ of the Serbian list is not the Serbian Government and President Aleksandar Vučić.
