Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Srpska Lista (SL) should take part in the upcoming elections in Kosovo on October 6^th, although they will have “powerful opponents in both the Albanian and part of the Serbian media“, KoSSev portal reports.

Vucic added that he is currently waiting to “receive a report from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and then to hear what Srpska Lista has to say“. Nevertheless, the President Vucic believes that Srpska Lista should participate in this election.

Yesterday around 15:00, Kosovo police has arrested Serbian-monthly newspaper Jedinstvo journalist Sonja Ivkovic from Novo Brdo, Serbian media report. After several hours she was released, while her vehicle was kept, RTS said.

Jedinstvo Editorial Board said in a statement that Sonja Ivkovic was arrested on the Prekovce-Novo Brdo way, while carrying out the latest Jedinstvo edition to the Serbs living in the surrounding villages.

KFOR Commander Major General Lorenzo D’Addario in an interview to Jedinstvo weekly said nothing indicates that the incidents could happen in Kosovo, adding KFOR is fully committed to implementing its mandate in line with UN SC Resolution 1244.

General D’Addario noted the only concern is caused by rhetoric used by all sides, since it creates an environment in which one isolated incident may escalate. He also appealed to everybody, including the media, to take care that their statements do not cause far-reaching consequences.

The oldest newspaper in the Serbian language in Kosovo and Metohija, the Pristina newspaper “Jedinstvo” marked today the 74^th anniversary since its establishment with a symbolic protest because it’s been 34 days since the Serbian press is not distributed in Kosovo, due to the increase of the tariffs on import of Serbian goods, Radio kontakt plus reports.

Pristina’s decision to introduce 100% tax on imports of goods from central Serbia and BiH has also affected, among other things, the distribution of Serbia press in Kosovo.

KFOR Commander General Salvatore Cuocci says that this peacekeeping mission will remain in Kosovo as long as needed, and that NATO currently does not plan to reduce the presence of international peacekeeping forces in Kosovo. Speaking about the action of Marko Djuric's arrest and attacks on journalists in North Mitrovica, Cuocci says that KFOR does not interfere with political or legal issues, national broadcaster RTS reports quoting daily Jedinstvo based in North Mitrovica.

Head of the EU Office in Kosovo and the EU Special Representative Nataliya Apostolova says that an agreement on the Community/Association of Serb municipalities was reached between the two sides in the dialogue under the auspices of the EU and that she expects the formation of the ZSO as soon as possible.

Marko Djuric says he has lost faith in Pristina's readiness to work on implementation of the Brussels agreements.

However, the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija added that he is convinced the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) would be formed after all.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić says that Serbs in Kosovo were and remained united and that those who were trying to undermine the unity will face the consequences. He says for the weekly Jedinstvo that he hopes that this is a lesson for all who might think that it is possible to be a Serb representative in Kosovo without consultation with Government of Serbia, and against the will of Kosovo Serbs.

The state of Serbian heritage in Kosovo is a matter of cultural identity of the first order, estimates the Minister of Culture and Information Vladan Vukosavljević.

He says to daily Jedinstvo that it is very difficult to ignore the fact that in Kosovo, inter alia, there are more than 1,300 Serbian churches, monasteries and archaeological sites, and it is impossible not to take into account the historical period in which they had arisen.

The outgoing EU Special Envoy for Kosovo Samuel Žbogar says that his aim was to assist in promoting a peaceful, democratic and multi-ethnic Kosovo and in this sense he is leaving the position pleased.

He, however, says in an interview for daily Jedinstvo, that there are still a lot of open issues for the multi-ethnic Kosovo, but that the EU sees the multi-ethnic Kosovo as the only possible variant of Kosovo and is working to strengthen it.
