Massive EULEX and police action, 30 properties throughout Kosovo raided (Lajmi.net)

EULEX and Kosovo Police have started a massive action today at 05:00 a.m. throughout the entire Kosovo, and they are raiding 28 private properties.

Reliable sources within security institutions told this new agency that these private properties belong to judges, lawyers, attorneys, as well as people who do not carry public positions.

These individuals are suspected to have committed illegal activities, expropriation of different properties, mainly public.

OSCE trains Kosovo Police in seizing illegally gained assets (RTK)

OSCE, supported by the German Foreign Office, organised in Pristina a two-week training on freezing, seizing and confiscating illegally gained assets for Kosovo Police officials.  John Corrigan, Chief of the Organized Crime Section in the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, said that the need for this type of training was identified through meetings with senior Kosovo Police officials. Participants were able to review the legal framework for freezing and confiscating illegally gained assets and they also studied different fictional cases.

 

 

Head of civil registration in Mitrovica North, arrested (Kallxo.com)

Mitrovica regional police arrested on Tuesday Slavica Generalovic, head of the civil registration in Mitrovica North, suspected for issuing documents and registering Serbs as Kosovo citizens, despite the fact that they did not appear in Kosovo register books. The spokesperson of the Mitrovica regional police, Avni Zahiti, confirmed the news for KALLXO.com. “She is suspected to have issued identification cards for Serbian citizens without possessing original certificates, but only copies,” Zahiti said.

KP arrests three persons for migrant smuggling (Kosovapress)

Kosovo Police (KP) has arrested today three persons suspected of involvement in smuggling of migrants. KP spokesperson Daut Hoxha said the suspects, arrested in the region of Pristina and Gjakova/Djakovica, are also believed to have been involved in forging of documents, smuggling of narcotics and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

 

One person wounded, another injured in two separate incidents in Leposaviq (Kosovapress)

A 20 year-old woman was wounded last night at a Leposaviq bar, sources said. Unidentified persons are reported to have fired at the victim from a moving vehicle. The motive behind the attack is not known while the victim is being treated at the Mitrovica north hospital and is in a stable condition. Sources also said that the bar where the attack happened is owned by one of the alleged drug dealers in the north. Also last night in Leposaviq, a major fight broke out between several people which left a brother of a Kosovo Police officer seriously injured.

KIPRED: Kosovo Police and KSF most reliable institutions (Lajmi)

According to a survey conducted by the Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED), the Kosovo Police and Kosovo Security Force (KSF) are the most reliable institutions by the Kosovo citizens. While with lower reliability were listed the President’s Office, Prime Minister and Interior Ministry. KIPRED also presented facts on terrorism threats and armed incident in Kumanovo. KIPRED Executive Director, Lulzim Peci, said that Kosovo has no legal act which determines the level of security threats and risks.

Kosovo Police Director: Kosovo is targeted by religious extremism (Koha)

Kosovo Police Director, Shpend Maxhuni, said today during a brief to the Kosovo Assembly committee on security, that Kosovo is targeted by religious extremism. “Kosovo is neither a nest nor producer of extremism. It is a target of religious extremism,” Maxhuni said. He said that Kosovo’s authorities will investigate the activities of certain non-governmental organizations that operated in the post-war period. Maxhuni also said that according to the data of Kosovo Police, 300 persons from Kosovo are currently fighting in Syria.
