Dacic to meet ambassadors, representatives of EU, UN, NATO (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, on behalf of the Serbian Government, would meet today ambassadors accredited in Serbia concerning yesterday’s incidents in Kosovo and Metohija, Serbian media reported.

He would also meet the representatives of the international organizations in Serbia, including the EU, UN, OSCE, NATO and the Office of the EU High Representative for Security and Foreign Policy.

As the Foreign Ministry announced the meeting would start at midday.

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic told RTS he expects nothing spectacular from today’s meeting in Brussels. He also pointed out Serbia will never accept unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.

Speaking for the RTS news edition, Dacic said there are many fake news related to Kosovo lately, and one can read some spectacular information every day, however “famous” Thursday when it was announced that somebody from Germany would bring a proposal or ultimatum has also passed.

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says Western countries expect Serbia to recognize Kosovo, which he described as insolent and humiliating.

"They separated Kosovo from Serbia with bombs and now they tell us that this story is finished," Dacic said in an interview for Friday's edition of daily Vecernje Novosti.

Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli has complained about Ivica Dacic during a recent informal meeting of "the Western Balkans 6" held in Sarajevo.

According to Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti, Pacolli said that Serbian foreign minister was "always tripping him up."

"People from Kosovo are young, and cannot travel freely. Serbia makes problems every day. I travel and fight to get recognitions of Kosovo - and Ivica brings them down," Pacolli reportedly told his colleagues as Dacic left the room during a working lunch.

USA sees Serbia as "backbone of stability in Balkans" (B92)

Serbia's First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has met with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell.

During the meeting in Belgrade late on Tuesday, they spoke about the topics related to regional stability, European path of Serbia and the continuation of the Brussels dialogue, the government announced.

The comment, made after Dacic's meeting in Belgrade with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, was prompted by Hashim Thaci saying that Belgrade "would be able to step out of the false mythology" if Russia recognized Kosovo.
