Serbian FM comments on UK's Kosovo initiative (BETA, Sputnik, B92)

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has told Sputnik that Serbia will ask all members of the UN Security Council to respect Resolution 1244.

He added that Serbia will also ask to keep sessions dedicated to Kosovo open.

According to the Russian website, Dacic said this following news of UK's intention to launch an initiative to either close UN Security Council sessions on Kosovo to the public or stop holding them altogether.

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Thursday that he would continue his efforts to convince other countries to withdraw their recognition of Kosovo.

"We will continue to explain to everyone that the case of Kosovo is about secession by violence and separatism which runs counter to international law. We do not recognize that false state,” Dacic said in the town of Sevojno.

Speaking about legally binding agreement, Dacic said those who are legal professionals they know, and he is not a one, however, he knows that such a thing does not exist, if there is an agreement it is also presumably binding.

Kosovo is a priority in all Serbian diplomatic activities, Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told Novosti daily, adding that the visit of Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel is important since this country would now have more understanding for Serbia.

Dacic emphasized it is important “to reach to everyone,” but he does not expect the EU would act differently now.

“The EU suffers from a serious disease, and it is muteness and deafness when it comes to Serbia. Maybe this disease can be cured, but one should work on it,” Dacic said.

Dacic: Kosovo cannot be topic of “foreign policy trade” (Tanjug, RTS, Danas)

Serbian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic said Serbia wishes to reach a compromised solution for Kosovo and Metohija, but this issue cannot be used in foreign policy trade as a condition to enter the EU, Tanjug news agency reported.

Dacic made these remarks in a conference “Training of Political Leaders,” held in Belgrade, adding that dialogue with Pristina is conducted in order to reach an agreement, but it cannot be unilateral, respectively one side gets it all, and the other side nothing.

Dacic: Number of states recognizing Kosovo will fall under 100 (Politika,Tanjug, B92)

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has told Politika that he can guarantee the number of countries that recognize Kosovo will fall under 100.

Dacic told the Belgrade-based newspaper over the weekend that this was his priority - and that it would help President Aleksandar Vucic, because his discussions about Kosovo would no longer proceed from "everything being a done deal".

Instead, the minister continued, Vucic will be able to say, "wait - in the last three months five countries revoked their recognition."

Serbia should not leave the Brussels agreement, however, it should insist to know the time-frame of its implementation, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said in a show “Upitnik” aired on RTS.

“Pubic must understand that a dialogue on technical matters is currently being held, while a dialogue on permanent solution has not even started, since Pristina does not want such talks,” Dacic said.
