Tahiri: Pristina and Belgrade to discuss the Association/Community (RTKLive)

Kosovo’s Minister without Portfolio, Edita Tahiri, said on Thursday that in the coming days there will be intensive meetings on the issue of dialogue. Tahiri also mentioned some of the main topics that would be discussed during the dialogue. Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic said that is not yet defined and agreed how Association / Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) will look like, as well it is not determined which degree of autonomy will have in the four areas: education, health care, economic development and regional planning. According to his opinion, it is not disputed that Kosovo has institutions with executive powers at the central and municipal level, but the question is what will happen if the local authority decide to delegate its powers to the future Association / Community of Serb municipalities.

She said that any agreement made with Serbia was signed on the principle of reciprocity. A Kosovo delegation led by Minister for Dialogue Edita Tahiri has participated at the second meeting on irregular migration held in Brussels under the auspices of the European Commission. A press release issued by the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo notes that European Commission representatives said Kosovo authorities displayed efficient engagement in preventing irregular migration and that Pristina is involved in international and bilateral cooperation for the repatriation and reintegration of returnees.

Tahiri: Construction in the north has not been discussed in Brussels (Koha)

However, she said efforts are underway to try and resolve the matter through a memorandum of understanding which has yet to be signed by the mayors of northern and southern parts of Mitrovica.

Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio Edita Tahiri told the news site on Thursday that the issue of the Trepca mining complex would under no circumstance be discussed in the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue. According to Tahiri, the red lines set in the dialogue with Belgrade do not allow for such topics to be addressed. She also said that the Constitution of Kosovo does not allow opening topics that are related to Kosovo’s wealth and territorial integrity.
