Vucic: We need peace with Albanians (RTS, Tanjug)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he does not recognize borders of independent Kosovo and that Serbs need peace with Albanians, Tanjug news agency reports. Vucic added he does not believe a compromise is possible in near time, however it is needed to insist on that.

He made these remarks in Vranje town, visiting it as a part of his campaign “Future of Serbia” that was launched yesterday.

Vucic: Revoke taxes and end provocations to resume dialogue (Serbian Government, B92)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the current stall in the (Kosovo) dialogue can be overcome only when Pristina abolishes taxes on goods from central Serbia.

Speaking on Monday in Belgrade, Vucic added that the dialogue can continue when Pristina ceases with provocations, such as the change in the statute of the Trepca mining complex (in northern Kosovo), which the president assessed was a grab of Serbian property.

One year after Gracanica-based Serbian National Forum (SNF) had a talk with the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the SNF in a letter sent to the President of Serbia, said the right question to Vucic is not “how much Serbian people are ready to pay for Kosovo and Metohija", but “how much the President is ready to pay in order to remain in power,” Radio KIM reports.

Vucic wrote to Trump, requests support in finding solution for Kosovo (RTS)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic wrote a letter to the US President Donald Trump, asking for support in finding a lasting and sustainable solution for Kosovo and Metohija, as well as invited him to visit Serbia, RTS reports.

Vucic thanked Trump for the support the US offers to Serbia on its EU path, in particular for the support in preserving the peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic welcomed the new Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Chen Bo, expressing belief she would add with her work a special mark on the iron friendship between the two countries, Tanjug news agency reported.

Vucic added he is proud that relations between Serbia and China are at the highest level in history and that he hopes to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping to Serbia this year. He voiced satisfaction over an intensive political dialogue and fruitful economic cooperation between the two countries.

Slovenia is Serbia’s honest friend, President Vucic says (BETA, TV N1)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that the trade exchange between his country and Slovenia rose from 571 million to 1.3 billion Euros in the last ten years, which indicates that the relations between two countries were significantly better, Beta news agency reported.

Borut Pahor, the President of Slovenia, is in Belgrade for two-day visit to discuss bilateral relations, the situation in the region and Serbia’s European path.
