Drecun comments on Meta’s statement in Sarajevo (Tanjug, Vecernje Novosti)

Serbian National Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Chairperson Milovan Drecun commenting on the Albanian President Ilir Meta statement in Sarajevo “that the reality that Kosovo is independent state should be accepted,” said formation of a joint state is taking place, Vecernje Novosti reported.

According to Drecun, Meta showed in Sarajevo during the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit how joint foreign policy of Pristina and Tirana looks like.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic reacted to Albanian President Ilir Meta's speech at South-East European Cooperation Process Summit in Jahorina saying that SEECP doesn't recognize Kosovo, adding that there is no room for provocations, B92 reports.

Meta: An agreement without changing borders (Danas)

In an interview for the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Albanian President Ilir Meta said that Kosovo and Serbia should reach an agreement without changing the borders.

Asked whether he fears the region's destabilization due to tensions between Kosovo and Serbia lately, the Albanian president said that good relations between Belgrade and Pristina are needed for peace, not only in the region, but also wider.

Ilir Meta and Hashim Thaci invited to ceremony in Medvedja (TV N1, FoNet)

Deputy Chair of Medvedja Municipal Assembly, Florim Sahiti told FoNet news agency that as it was the case last year, presidents of Albania and Kosovo, Ilir Meta and Hashim Thaci are invited to a cultural-sport event in the village of Tupale, near by Medvedja.

Meta on Kosovo's relations with Serbia, EU and Albania (Klan Kosovo)

The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, told Klan Kosova that it is important to finally clarify Serbia’s orientation, towards the European Union or Russia. “It appears that Serbia’s orientation is towards EU,” he said. “There is an effort and an insistence to move towards EU and this means a European approach towards neighbors and Kosovo,” Meta said.

Thaci asks Meta to give Albanian citizenship to people of Kosovo (Klan Kosova)

In a meeting in Pristina today, President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci asked his Albanian counterpart Ilir Meta to enable the people of Kosovo getting Albanian citizenship to be able to move freely. “After the demarcation was imposed as necessary criteria for visa liberalisation, I see no perspective of the Assembly passing this issue. The EU approach also forces me ask the President of Albania to allow citizens from Kosovo apply for dual citizenship as the only hope for free movement,” Thaci said.

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, in a joint press conference with President of Albania, Ilir Meta, spoke about the decision of the British Ambassador, Ruairi O’Connell, to walk out midway through Thaci’s speech  on specialist chambers. “I didn’t even notice he was inside or when he stepped out. If he walked out for his personal business, it is his decision, but if he went out as a result of disagreeing with the debate, it is a frustrating, childish and completely undiplomatic behaviour,” Thaci said.
