Kuci: Special Court depends on EU-Netherlands negotiations (Indeksonline)

There is still no set date when the Assembly will convene to change the constitution to enable the establishment of a special court that will investigate allegations of war crimes and organ trafficking in Kosovo. According to the Minister of Justice, Hajredin Kuci, the Assembly session on the issue will depend on the successful conclusion of negotiations between the EU and the court’s host country, the Netherlands.

Thaci meets Jacobson (Indeksonline)

Hashim Thaci, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and Minister for Foreign Affairs, met today with Tracey Ann Jacobson, the United States Ambassador to Kosovo. Thaci and Jacobson discussed the agenda of the new government of Kosovo. Thaci wrote on Facebook that he called on Jacobson to continue supporting Kosovo’s path in Euro-Atlantic integration processes. Thaci assured Jacobson that Kosovo would focus on consolidating its democracy, on the rule of law and on dialogue with Belgrade.

Jahjaga: Kosovo to be more careful about economic policies (Indeksonline)

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga said that insufficient rate of economic growth, unemployment and lack of government effectiveness are leading to an environment that stimulates and increases influence of criminal and extremist groups. Jahjaga made these comments during a ceremony to mark the anniversary of the establishment of Kosovo Central Bank.

Kosovo Police: We arrested 39 individuals yesterday (Indeksonline)

Kosovo Police has informed to have arrested 30 individuals in the territory of Kosovo, during the last 24 hours. The Police informed that the arrested are suspects for smuggling goods and individuals sought by the order of the Court for other criminal deeds. From the 39 arrested, 30 were sent to the detention center, until a further decision of the justice bodies.

Thaci to hand over his duties to Mustafa on Friday (indeksonline)

Hashim Thaci, the outgoing Prime Minister of Kosovo, has decided to hand over his duties to the just-elected Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, on Friday. “We inform all media that Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi shall hand over the office to the newly elected Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, on 12 December 2014, Friday, at 14:00 hours,” stresses a press release issued by the Office of the Prime Minister.

Surroi to replace Shala as dialogue coordinator? (Indeksonline)

Citing sources close to Kosovar publicist Veton Surroi, the news website reports that negotiations are being finalized for Surroi's inclusion in the future government consisting of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). According to the same sources, Surroi could take up the post held by Blerim Shala, the coordinator of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade. Shala has reportedly notified LDK and PDK leaders that his party chief, Ramush Haradinaj, no longer wants to have an active role in the dialogue.

Haziri: No Assembly session without agreement with PDK (Indeksonline)

Lutfi Haziri, a member of the chairmanship of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), said on Thursday that the inaugural session of the Kosovo Assembly would not resume without a prior agreement between the LDK and the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). Haziri also said that "the post of the Prime Minister is a done deal" and that it belongs to the LDK.

German authorities sentence Kreshnik Berisha for joining ISIS (Indeksonline)

Kreshnik Berisha was sentenced today in Frankfurt to three years and nine months in prison for joining the organization of Islamic State (ISIS). Last year, Berisha was accused that he traveled to Syria where he stayed for five months, and fought alongside ISIS, Indeksonline reports. This is the first trial in Germany held for someone who joined ISIS. Berisha, 20 years old, was born in Germany to Kosovo Albanian parents.

Thaci's visit to New York, delays finalizing of the PDK-LDK agreement (indeksonline)

The leaders of the recently created coalition between the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK,) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK,) were excepted to finalize the agreement for the joint governance today. However, it appears that this will be postponed due to the absence of the PDK leader, Hashim Thaci.

According to the sources of Radio Kosova, Thaci traveled today to New York, to participate at the UN Security Council meeting for Kosovo, therefore the agreement will finalize only after his return.
