Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said in a Ministerial Conference on Religious Freedom in Washington that members of the Serbian people, Church and Christian cultural and historic heritage in Kosovo and Metohija are the victims of a nationalistic ideology to create a homogeneous ethnic, cultural and religious area, RTS reports.

“In terms of interfaith tolerance and coexistence, Kosovo sets an example in the region and beyond,“ Kosovo Foreign Minister, Behgjet Pacolli said at a ministerial conference on religious freedom held in Washington.

While Pacolli claims that the various religious communities in Kosovo “live together in harmony,“ the Kosovo Police still fail to find those responsible for the latest desecration of tombstones at the Lipljan Orthodox cemetery, KoSSev portal reports.

At the invitation of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic will represent Serbia at the Ministerial Conference on the Promotion of Religious Freedom, which will take place on 17-18 July in Washington, Serbian Government announced on its website.

Serbia as a secular state recognizes seven traditional religious communities, while 28 religious communities are active there and is fully committed to providing enjoyment of this human right in all spheres of life, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said at the Washington Ministerial Conference on Religious Freedom.
