Kosovo marks European Immunization Week (Kosovapress)

Kosovo today marks European Immunization Week, organized by the Ministry of Health, UNICEF Kosovo and World Health Organization (WHO). The Ministry of Health, through a press release, stated that the European Immunization Week in Kosovo aims, through organized activities, to raise awareness about immunization and improve the health status of children in Kosovo.

Kosovo reaches agreement with Serbia on mutual recognition of ADR certificates (Kosovapress)

Kosovo delegation in the discussions with Serbia, informed through a press release that they have reached agreement for reciprocal recognition of the ADR certificates on transportation of the hazardous goods.

With the mediation of the European Union in Brussels and after marathonic discussions under a heavy and tensioned atmosphere, the agreement for mutual recognition of ADR certificates was reached at around 03:30 in the morning, or after 20 hours of discussions, informed Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri.

Visar Ymeri arrested again (Kosovapress)

The leader of the Vetevendosje movement, Visar Ymeri, has been arrested again today by Kosovo Police. Vetevendosje movement announced the news through a press release, where they also requested interruptions of political persecution.

They claimed that litigation towards the Vetevendosje movement, are set up and added that violence and political prosecution have become methods of the government in Kosovo.

Mustafa: No more agreements without dissolution of parallel structures (Kosovapress)

Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa during his visit to Shtime/Stimlje municipality today said that the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels, launched three years ago, has been very difficult. The results of this dialogue, according to Mustafa, have been evident. “Through dialogue we managed to overcome the problem of the north of the country. Now there is communication between the Government of Kosovo and the mayors of the north, and they have accepted the Kosovo budget and are applying the laws of Kosovo,” Mustafa said.

Kosovo Police officer brutally beaten up in the north (Kosovapress)

Dejan Vlaskovic, a member of the Kosovo Police rapid reaction unit, was brutally beaten up on Monday evening in Mitrovica North. Sources told the news agency that Vlaskovic was off duty and driving under the influence of alcohol when he hit a parked vehicle. Several people walked out of a restaurant nearby and beat up Vlaskovic unconscious. “Ivan Mladjevic, a known drug dealer, was the one that beat up Vlaskovic the most,” a source said. Vlaskovic is now receiving treatment at the Mitrovica north hospital.

Kosovapress journalist prevented from doing his job and escorted to police station (Kosovapress)

Eduard Haliti, intern-journalist at KosovaPress news agency, was prevented today from doing his job by two police officers in Podujeva. “Journalist Haliti, while reporting on the protest of bus companies in Podujeva against the illegal taxis, was requested by two police officers to erase the recordings which clearly showed a police officer trying to arrest a citizen, who may have been a driver of illegal taxis in this region. KosovaPress journalist did not allow police officers to delete footage recorded and presented his credentials as journalist.

Haxhiu calls AAK and NISMA hypocrites (Kosovapress)

Vetevendosje movement MP, Albulena Haxhiu, accused on her Facebook page the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA). Even though she did not mention these two parties, Haxhiu’s reaction came after the statements of the officials of AAK and NISMA that they do not have any red lines with regards to the governing coalitions.

AAK continues to oppose Thaci’s election (Kosovapress)

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) announced its MPs will not take part in today’s swearing in ceremony for Hashim Thaci as the new president of Kosovo. Furthermore, in a symbolic action, the party’s activists last night put up posters in Pristina against Thaci becoming president of Kosovo. The posters carry slogans claiming Thaci is not a unifying figure and a far cry from what a true head of state should be.

Krasniqi: My intention was not to cause offence to women (Kosovapress)

Former Kosovo Assembly President and co-founder of Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), Jakup Krasniqi, said in a statement that his remarks about the failures of the Kosovo delegation to which he referred to as the “women’s delegation” as it was led by dialogue minister Edita Tahiri and industry and trade minister Hykmete Bajrami, were misinterpreted by the Kosovo Women Network which condemned his statement as “absurd” and “offensive”.
