Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic states that the competent institutions will react to the customs unification of Pristina and Tirana, stating that ahead of Serbia is not an easy period, reports Radio television of Serbia (RTS).

FM: Kosovo is "failed project, Greater Albania derivative" (Tanjug, B92)

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says he was not surprised by the news of the elimination of roaming charges between Kosovo and Albania.

As Dacic told reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday, "this is nothing new, but something that has been happening for a number of decades and centuries - the desire to establish a Greater Albania."

Albanian President Ilir Meta is against division of Kosovo and thinks that the exchange of territories is an idea of destructive people, Belgrade based daily Vecerenje Novosti reported referring to the Albanian media.

According to Albanian media, Meta made these remarks during the talks with the European Council on Foreign Relations representatives including Carl Bildt.

Meta repeated stance he thinks Western Balkan countries should join EU as soon as possible, Vecernje Novosti reported.

EU on Rama's statement: Political interference in neighbouring countries is not of a help (RTS)

On the occasion of the "idea" of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama on the "joint president of Albania and Kosovo", the European Union states that "the statements that can be interpreted as a political interference in neighbouring countries" are counterproductive both in building good neighbourly relations and progress on the path of EU integration of the country region, reports Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).

Statement of the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama that Albania and Kosovo would have a common foreign policy and a president is directed against the peace in the region and represents a hostile act against Serbia and its people, Minister without portfolio in the Serbian Government Nenad Popovic told RTS.

Popovic further said because of this statement Edi Rama should be declared “persona non grata” in Serbia and the country should send a harsh demarche to the Albanian ambassador in Belgrade.

EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn says 2025 is "a realistic goal for a new wave of (EU) enlargement.)

Serbia and Montenegro have currently "progressed the farthest" toward that goal - but that does not mean that the two countries will definitely be the first to "cross the finish line," Hahn told Austria's APA agency.

"There is still much to do," he said.

Kosovo is Serbia, says Serbia's ambassador to Albania (B92)

Serbia will never recognize Kosovo, Serbian Ambassador to Albania, Miroljub Zaric has said.

He made the statement during his visit to Skadar (Shkoder) for Orthodox Christmas on Sunday, and said that "Kosovo is Serbia".

"Kosovo is Serbia, to you it is independent, to us it is not. To us Kosovo is a part of the territory of Serbia and there is no possibility of us accepting an alternative. It (Kosovo) was, it is, and will be a part of Serbia," Zaric added.

However, he said, this fact does not have to influence relations between Serbia and Albania.

 

Two Kosovo men plead guilty of plotting to attack Israeli soccer team (Reuters)

Two Kosovo men pleaded guilty on Wednesday to planning attacks at a World Cup soccer match in Albania against the visiting Israel team last year.

Kosovo police arrested 19 people in November 2016 on suspicion that they had links with the Islamic State militant group and were planning attacks in Kosovo and neighboring Albania. Nine of them were charged.
