Kosovo’s Ombudsman, Sami Kurteshi, through a press release informed the public that the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga; European Union Special Representative, Samuel Zbogar and EULEX Head of Mission, Gabriele Meucci, are hindering investigations of the Ombudsman institution over allegations of legal and constitutional violations committed by the President of the Constitutional Court, Enver Hasani.

Gabriele Meucci says that so far about 20 suspects have been identified who may be subject to an indictment for war crimes committed in 1999 in Gjakova/Djakovica.

The head of the EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX, told the Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti daily that he did not wish to reveal their names. The newspaper, however, noted that it has already been disclosed that former Military Security Agency (VBA) chief General Momir Stojanovic was on the list.

Serbian Interior Minister, Nebojsa Stefanovic, said to Gabriele Meucci, the Head of EULEX Mission in Kosovo, that interest of Serbia is achieving full security of the Serbian population in the province. Stefanovic pointed out the expectation that the suspect in the murder of Serbian gendarme Stevan Sinđelić will be found.  He said that Serbia has certain operational knowledge about the tragic murder of Sinđelić and indicated that it is a crime without precedent. "We insist on completing the investigation and consequent prosecution of the suspects," said the minister.

European Union rule of law mission, EULEX, was not able today to say anything regarding allegations of corruption. The new chief of mission, Gabriele Meucci, reiterated the mission’s line that “they do not comment on ongoing criminal investigations”.
