FM Dacic comments on Hahn’s statement (Blic, Tanjug, B92)

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister and first deputy PM Ivica Dacic is cautious while commenting on EU Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn's statement about the possibility of "a land swap" as part of a future Belgrade-Pristina agreement.

Dacic told Belgrade-based daily Blic that Pristina - who last November introduced 100 percent tariffs on goods from central Serbia, deadlocking the Kosovo dialogue - should make the first move.

Drecun: US offer won’t be on table for long (RTS)

Serbian National Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Milovan Drecun told RTS morning news edition the USA realized that a compromise is needed in order to change the status of the Serbian southern province. This offer, according to Drecun, would not be on the table for long.

Drecun added Serbia must undertake certain measures if Pristina does not revoke the tariffs it imposed. “We avoid all the time to resort to such measures that should correct Pristina’s attitude. Pristina should not be punished, but it should start acting rationally and open the way for the talks.”

Vucic meets with Orban, governments to hold joint session (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Sunday spoke with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Subotica, northern Serbia, Tanjug news agency reported. A joint session of the governments of the two countries would be held in this town on Monday.

Vucic and Orban concluded that relations between the two countries are at the highest level in their history, based on mutual understanding and trust, as a result of many years of cooperation. They expressed their sincere commitment to bilateral cooperation, as well as cooperation on issues of importance to the entire region.

German Foreign Minister to visit Serbia soon (BETA, TV N1)

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic and his German counterpart Heiko Mass discussed on Friday bilateral relations between the two countries, situation in the region and possibilities for resumption of Belgrade – Pristina dialogue, BETA news agency reported quoting the statement of the Serbian Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The two officials met on the sidelines of the foreign ministers’ meeting in Warsaw, gathered under the Berlin Process including the Western Balkans and eight EU member states. They also agreed that Minister Mass would visit Serbia, the statement concluded.

Covic: Realistic danger for Serbs in north of Kosovo, prudent in Berlin (RTS)

Former head of the Coordination Center for Kosovo and Metohija, Nebojsa Covic told RTS he thinks there is a realistic danger of new conflicts because “Kosovo attempts to roundup its sovereignty.” According to him, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emanuel Macron want to overcome the problems in Kosovo and continue the dialogue, however that is not possible, Covic stressed.

Hahn says US, EU want Western Balkans in Union (Beta, N1)

European Commissioner Johannes Hahn said in Washington on Wednesday that the United States and European Union want to bring the Western Balkans into the EU.

Our shared goal on both sides of the Atlantic is to stabilize the region and bring all six Western Balkan countries into the EU based on established conditions. That’s in our geopolitical self-interest,” he wrote on his Twitter account from a meeting of the Atlantic Council.

Kocijancic: First the abolition of tariffs, then dialogue (Tanjug, Radio Mitrovica Sever)

Brussels is informed about the elections in the north of Kosovo, EU spokesperson Maja Kocijancic says, but also once again urged a quicker continuation of Belgrade and Pristina dialogue as the best way to resolve all open issues in the region, reports Radio Mitrovica Sever, quoting Belgrade based agency Tanjug.

On that occasion, she emphasized the necessity of a quick continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

EU might lose Serbia because of Russia and China – diplomats (Danas)

Sooner or later the EU must accept Serbia and other Western Balkans states as its members, since it is the only way to “preserve” these countries from the influence of other stakeholders, foremost Russia and China, diplomatic sources unofficially told Belgrade-based daily Danas.

They noted “the enlargement is the only tool at the Union’s disposal when it comes to the Balkans,” although it remains completely uncertain if 2025 would be a year of Serbia’s and Montenegro’s accession to the EU.

Mogherini unveiled mural dedicated to Western Balkans people in Brussels (BETA, TV N1)

European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini unveiled a mural by Bosnian artist Rikardo Druskic which he dedicated to the peoples of the Western Balkans, BETA news agency reported.

The EU along with the Balkan Trafik Festival and the City of Brussels supported Druskic's work. It will become a part of the popular Brussels’ Street Art Parcours.

The mural, titled “It is only with the heart that one can see well,” aims to call on people throughout the region “to look at each other with open hearts and without prejudice.”

Blic: Battle for supremacy over Europe to be decided in Kosovo (B92)

The battle for supremacy over Europe is being fought between Germany and the US, and it could be decided in Kosovo, Belgrade based daily Blic writes on Friday.

For Germany, Kosovo is an independent state and there is no further discussion about border change, Blic says, and reminds that German parliamentarians Peter Beyer and Christian Schmitd conveyed this message to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic two days ago.
