The technical dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade is expected to continue today with focus on cadasters and recognition of diplomas. It is reported that the main issues discussed yesterday among the technical teams were implementation of the agreement on freedom of movement and the issue of the use of license plates for Kosovo vehicles. Neither parties gave details about the meeting. In the last day of discussions, the delegations, mediated by the EU, will discuss the border between the northern and southern parts of Mitrovica.

Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration Bekim Çollaku said in an interview for zëri that the decision of EU Committee LIBE opens way to visa liberalization for Kosovo. However this will be done in condition that Kosovo ratifies the agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro as soon as possible. He said that ratification is a necessary condition where the EU will not compromise, and that it was made clear on Tuesday that the European Parliament will not put report on Kosovo in the agenda if this remaining criterion is not fulfilled.

The European Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) voted against beginning of negotiations on the liberalisation of visas for citizens of Kosovo. The S&D Group remains strongly in favour of visa liberalisation, however this can only begin when the government of Kosovo has addressed all the outstanding issues.

As Dnevnik learns, EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn will arrive in Belgrade on Friday. The source of Dnevnik says that one of the main themes of Serbian officials in talks with Hahn will be progress made in Chapter 35 regarding the normalization of relations with Pristina.

Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration said that he expects Kosovo’s integration in the European Union this year, despite the challenges faced recently.

Çollaku made this statement during his first meeting with new head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova. He also stressed that the EU should continue with procedures on visa liberalisation make a positive decision on Kosovo.

Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration, Bekim Çollaku, met today with the outgoing Special Representative of the European Union and head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar. Çollaku thanked Zbogar for his contribution and tireless work in promoting the European agenda for Kosovo. Çollaku also said that cooperation and the work done over the last couple of years culminated with the signing of the Stabilisation/Association Agreement and the visa liberalisation recommendation for Kosovo.

"The RTK is an important national institution established by and for the people of Kosovo. An attack against it is a threat to the freedom of expression and to the interests of the people of Kosovo.  The EU Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative expresses concern over this already second armed attack on a public institution over the last few weeks.

Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) has submitted a proposal for a session to be called where Jadranka Joksimović, the Minister without portfolio in the Serbian Government in charge for European Integrations, and Marko Đurić, director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija, would answer the MPs’ questions about Chapter 35 and normalization of relations with Kosovo.

The director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, said that big powers now, in a way, need Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities as a kind of leverage for making the balance in politics. Đurić said to TV Pink that it is ‘very important’ that something that was Serbia’s proposal is supported and by those who recognize Kosovo’s independence.
