Hashim Thaci has been under fire in his own capital Pristina after he recently paid tribute at memorials to Serbs who were killed during the 1990s war.
His pledges to solve their murders were seen as no more than rhetoric by Serbs, while Albanians believe that Thaci effectively admitted that his own people were responsible for the crimes.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi through a press statement condemned the attack on the premises of the public broadcaster RTK on Monday night. He said the attack on RTK is an attack against freedom of speech. “I call on all representatives of political parties to protect the freedom of speech. I also urge the relevant authorities to find the perpetrators of this ugly act and bring them to justice,” Thaçi said.

The U.S. Vice President Joe Biden during his official visit to Kosovo told a press conference on Wednesday that Kosovo must ratify the border-demarcation agreement with Montenegro and establish the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. Otherwise, he said, Kosovo would lose the support of the US if it doesn’t fulfill these two agreements. “The agreement on border-demarcation with Montenegro is a fair deal and will have a positive impact on the region,” Biden said.

The mother of the murdered Serbian teenager, on Tuesday, removed the wreath placed at the monument in the village Goraždevac, in Peć municipality, a day earlier by Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi.
Senka Jovović, whose son Ivan (19) was killed in 2003 with another 13-year-old when they were shot by attackers who have not been discovered to this day, took the wreath to the police station.
The vice-president of the Self-Determination Movement, Driton Çaushi said that dialogue with Serbia will most probably shift to the level of presidents.
“It was announced that the format of the dialogue with Serbia will change, and most probably shift to the level of presidents. Thaçi is ready to do everything only that the Special Court has a mercy on him. As he already normalized relations with Dačić, now he endeavors to reconcile with Nikolić,” said Çaushi.
“To stop Thaçi and to stop Serbia are not different things now,” wrote Çaushi on his Facebook profile.
President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, condemned last night’s blast in Pristina saying that everyone should agree that violence has no place in Kosovo. “Violence brings fear, fear brings hatred and hatred brings more violence. We may not agree on many things but we should all agree on one thing and that is that violence has no place in our Kosovo,” Thaçi said.
