Thaçi convinced KSF is ready for transformation (Koha)

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, said today at the opening of a training centre at the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) barracks that the force is gradually growing in the direction of maintaining operational capacities. “KSF is Kosovo’s future army”, said Thaçi without giving a timeline of when the transformation process will start. “KSF is a good indicator of our state and society’s character by integrating members of all communities”, Thaçi said further.

The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, and the Ambassador of the United States of America in Kosovo Greg Delawie, signed today amendment of the bilateral agreement on the Development Objective Agreement Grant (DOAG) .

The agreement includes determination of the U.S. government to help Kosovo institutions attain reforms which would push Kosovo’s development forward.

Kosovo Judicial Council asked to resubmit nominations for judges (RFE)

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, will not decree 34 judges from the Serb community nominated by the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) since 2015. Thaçi’s office said the KJC nominations have not been processed due to the expiration of the legal deadline. It also stated that they have asked the KJC to resubmit the nominations including for another 14 candidates for judges from the non-Albanian communities.

Kosovo President Thaçi visits northern Kosovo (Lajmi)

The news site reports that the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi is visiting northern Kosovo today and that he currently is in Jarinje border-crossing point. The news site also notes that this is the first time a president of Kosovo is visiting the northern border-crossing points. Thaçi’s political advisor, Ardian Arifaj, confirmed the news to Klan Kosova. “President Thaçi today visited Jarinje border-crossing point,” Arifaj said.

Thaçi confident Assembly will ratify demarcation deal on September 1 (media)

Kosovo President, Hashim Thaçi, said today that he is confident that the Assembly of Kosovo will ratify the demarcation agreement with Montenegro on September 1. Thaçi said the border deal must be ratified so that Kosovo can move forward with its integration processes, "such as the implementation of its international agenda, visa liberalisation for the citizens of Kosovo and the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force into the Kosovo Armed Forces".
